NATIONAL PARK SUMMITS ARE SOLD FOR £1 MILLION

Two mountain peaks and moorland in Snowdonia were snapped up by an undisclosed buyer for a whopping £1 million in a "nail-biting" auction on the 9th July. The summits of Moel Cynghorion and Foel Goch, together with 1,000 acres of moorland, some derelict outbuildings, a stream and rough grazing came under the hammer at a packed public auction in Llanberis. Bidding started at £700,000 with the price rising in £20,000 leaps.
