Lower Landlake Farmhouse Sold as part of probate sale by Kivells

A recent probate sale in Cornwall demonstrated the strength and expertise within south west property, professional services and auctioneers Kivells this month.

Kivells dedicated departments combined to assist a client who instructed Kivells to take care of all aspects of the probate sale at the unique, ancient farmhouse of Lower Landlake on the Devon and Cornwall border in Launceston.

Kivells held a collectors auction at Holsworthy on 31st July with a coin section of 220 lots which included a 1829 sovereign selling at £440

Other whole sovereigns £205 to £240, a double at £400, 1679 crown £150, 1819 halfcrown £95, French 10 franc £85, 1832 USA half cent £55 and various silver £70. A collection of world banknotes sold at £160, a Mahon ten shilling at £65 and consecutive pound notes at £32,

Kivells furniture team saw a huge entry at Holsworthy on Tuesday with plenty of buyers in attendance. Top call of the day was £240 given for a leather sofa with plenty of lots up and over the £100 bracket.

Kivells Auctioneers had the Priviledge of conducting a ‘2 evening’ auction at Hartland Abbey and helped raise over £42,000 for 2 charities being Cancer Research UK & North Devon Hospice.

Guests saw the top call of the night reach £4,000 for a helicopter ride lunch for 6 at Portledge Estate.

Kivells Charity total for 2018 is over £150,000!

Kivells can be traced back to 1885 when William Thomas Kivell set himself up in business as an auctioneer and land agent, first in Pyworthy and then in Holsworthy. Kivells is organised around five divisions, Agricultural sales and auctions (including the 3 livestock markets at Holsworthy, Hallworthy and Exeter and on farm sales throughout the Westcountry).
