Kivells held a collectors auction at Holsworthy on 20th March being instructed by the Executors of the late Derek ‘Derry’ Jones of Sutcombe to offer his Triumph motorbike, two Ventriloquist dummies and other stage related items.

Kivells 20th February Antiques & Collectors Auction held at Holsworthy Auction Room & On Line at thesaleroom.com, saw a glimmer of hope that furniture values are on the up. An Irish leather button back wing armchair with superb carved legs easily outstripped the pre sale guide to sell at the magnificent sum of £1400.
Kivells first online Collectors Auction of 2018 on 23rd January attracted a huge entry of 1,040 lots which were offered to a packed Auction room and nearly 300 bidders registered online.
Kivells auctioneers are delighted to announce that due to public demand, they are now holding fortnightly sales of household furniture and effects at the Holsworthy auction centre situated on the edge of the town. Since moving to the new auction site the sales of furniture and effects have become really busy with between 1000 – 1200 lots becoming the norm. One example of this was last week when over 1400 lots went under the hammer with 150+
Kivells Select Antiques & Collectors Auction on 5th December at Holsworthy Auction Room finished the Year on a high.
Great interest was shown prior to the Auction with over 250 bidders registered On Line from across the Globe.
Eager bidders in the room, on the telephones and live On Line were the order of the day at Kivells Holsworthy Auction Room on 15th August.
Top price of the day was paid for a Breitling Navitimer wristwatch, the sellers’ brother having purchased it in the 1960’s. Bidding took off and the final bid of £2300 secured the watch for a bidder On Line in Austria.
Kivells July 11th On Line Auction at Holsworthy Auction room included a collection of 27 World War II Ministry of Food posters. They were issued by the Ministry to encourage the public to grow their own vegetables, not to waste food, use cod liver oil and “Dig for Victory”. The whole collection sold for a surprising £1700 with top price of £130 for a single poster.
Country furniture especially pine pieces were very much in demand at Kivells May 30th Antiques & Collectors Auction. The Auction highlighted that all lots being offered On Line to a worldwide audience greatly increases the prices realised.
Kivells Live on Line Collectables Auction of 750 lots at Holsworthy Auction Room on 11th November included a Linn Sondek LP12 record deck in its original packing box and consigned to the auction by the owner who purchased it new from Radford Hi Fi of Windsor in the 1970’s. Furious bidding on line and in the Room soon reached £900 at which price it was sold to an online bidder.
