SALE REPORT

329 Antiques & Household Furniture – Auctioneer Andrew Varney

One of the most interesting sales that Kivells have conducted during 2019 including the very genuine dispersal sale  on behalf of the late Mr M Thomas.  Maurice was a ‘proper chap’ and a real Country Gentleman who had a heart of gold and has done so much for the rural community of Torridge & West Devon.

The sale saw a top call of £250 for a superb china donkey whilst the Hunting Red (coat) complete with South Tetcott Hunt buttons hit £240 and purchased from a buyer from Kingsbridge whilst the Hunting Jacket (Black) went to the same home.

The traditional hunting whip reached £135 and stayed with one loyal hunting supporter from Putford.  The best of a very large number of hunting pictures hit £90 (twice) going off to a Torrington Hunt supporter whilst the selection of ‘Country’ walking sticks went to Dartmoor at £70.

Outside the dispersal top call of the day was £46 for the Flat Screen TV in from Launcells in Cornwall with the Electric Planner reaching £36 in from Bradford near Holsworthy.

327 Saddlery – Auctioneer James Morrish

A nice entry saw a smaller crowd of buyers present.  The top call of the day was £100 given for an ‘American Style’ saddle on behalf of Messrs Riddle of Hatherleigh, Devon.  Plenty of lots between £25-£50 with vendors present from as far afield as Kent, Bridgewater and West Cornwall.
