This week’s sale of TB restricted cattle saw a top call of £1,170 for Aberdeen Angus steers in from Messrs Philp & Son of Pelynt with others up from Helston at £1,140 and plenty topping the £1,000 bracket.

Kivells of Holsworthy saw a ‘proper’ trade for the dispersal of milking cows on behalf Messrs Rule who made the 140 mile round trip up from Redruth, Cornwall and saw the pick of the herd reach £2,047 going off to it’s new home near Bideford.
The Kivells team at Exeter saw 576 Rams go under the hammer on Wednesday for the 2018 Ram Sale which saw an overall top call of the ay being £1,520 given for the best of the Texel rams on behalf of Messrs FH Chave of Wellington in Somerset.
Big numbers of calves out at both Exeter & Holsworthy this week with a top call of £470 for Limousin from Messrs Alsopp & Partners at Exeter.
Meanwhile £452 was the top at Holsworthy on Wednesday for an 8 week old Blue from Messrs Collins of Pyworthy

A huge entry of breeding sheep sold on Tuesday saw the best commercial ewes to “210 in from Fay Tucker of South Molton whilst at Holsworthy on Wednesday 6/fm ewes from Martyn - Uglow hit £158.

Kivells Dairy team saw a massive day at Shirwell in North Devon on Monday selling to a top call of 2,300gns given for the best of 442 Dairy stock on behalf of Andrew & Debbie Lewis. Cows went to new hoes in Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Yorkshire, and Shropshire and all over the Westcountry.

Kivells of Holsworthy conducted the sale of Standing Spring Corn this week on behalf of Trevor Lane of Helston in West Cornwall which sold to a neighbouring farmer at £280 p/acre.
