Excellent prices once again
Kivells antiques & collectors auction at Holsworthy Auction room on 17th April saw 100 lots of jewellery keenly contested with many happy vendors.
First up were 3 sovereigns in 9ct gold necklace mounts selling at £225 to £240 each nest a good selection of gold rings topped by a 22ct gold band at £125. 18ct gold band at £105 and 5 diamond gypsy ring at £95. A 9ct gatelink padlock bracelet sold at £165, 9ct curb bracelet at £138 and a 9ct chain at £165. An 18ct gold amethyst & seed pearl pair of earrings £340 and a 9ct gold amethyst bracelet sold for £400. A good selection of watches included an 18ct ladies pocket watch at £170, Rose 9ct ladies wrist watch at £95, Accurist 9ct gold £90 and Omega 24 jewel at £85.
In the silver section 6 Georgian serving spoons sold at £150, silver topped needle holder at £180, jug & sugar basin £80 and 4 sets of 12 knives & forks at £150.
Furniture once again showed signs of a revival with a huge 9ft mahogany wardrobe compactum selling to an online bidder at £420, Globe Wernicke bookcase £260, pine chest of drawers £100, 4 pine pews £75 to £125, oak library bookcase £140 and a black oak monks bench at £160.
30 lots of Beswick animals sold well with a Suffolk punch heavy horse at £230, Clydesdale stallion £270, Huntsman & Huntswoman on horses at £105 & £165 and a Highland bull & calf at £170.
Other china pieces included CH Brannam jug at £115, Will Young group at £80, Portmeirion table china £170, Royal Crown Derby starlight hare paperweight £75 and a Chinese 5” vase at £105.
Other items included a Newton Wilson & Co Princess of Wales sewing machine £190, Japanese scroll £330, Elliott GPO wall clock £105 and a Skeleton fussee clock at £300.
Kivells next online auction will be held on Tuesday 15th May with further entries invited to include stamps, pictures, postcards, models, toys & militaria.
