Further £30 million confirmed for the popular small grant scheme - available early 2019
The Government has committed a further £30 million for another round of the popular countryside productivity small grants scheme which helps farmers buy the equipment they need to boost productivity and yields.
The next application window will open in early 2019 with similar items available from the first round which includes equipment specific to cattle, sheep and pig farmers as well as provision farming and resource management equipment for arable farmers. In addition to this there is likely to be new items in the second round of funding including fruit ripeness spectrometers and nitrogen measuring devices for calculating fertiliser application for crops.
We would encourage any farmers interested in applying for this to ensure all details are up to date with their Basic Payment Scheme and have a look at the previous rounds details to get an idea of product specification and cost. We would also recommend talking to suppliers for any items you are interested in due to some supplier issues on the last round of the scheme.
