Kivells Farms and Land Agency are pleased to report an unprecedented number of sales since the autumn despite the general uncertainty surrounding Europe and what the future holds.
Utilising the unrivalled expertise of the whole team, the agency has successfully sold and sale agreed a number of farms and blocks of land whilst continuing to acquire large numbers of new stock.
Coldridge Barton completed at the turn of the year, an outstanding Barton Farm with 244 acres of highly productive pasture and arable land in a wonderful setting in Crediton, Devon. The attractive, Grade II listed, six bedroom farmhouse sold in excess of its guide price and included a substantial cob and stone barn and an excellent range of modern farm buildings with a superb run of pasture and arable land. Kivells Director, Mark Bromell, commented, “This super traditional beef and sheep farm attracted significant interest and sold considerably above the guide value to a progressive Devonshire dairy farming family within a very quick timescale.”
Additionally, the livestock was sold at Kivells Exeter Market and the Exeter team conducted an in farm machinery sale highlighting the diversity and experience at Kivells.
Kivells Holsworthy were delighted to represent the clients of Jenns Farm in Bradworthy. The property, a historic rural Devon family smallholding, sold at auction during an incredibly successful year of Kivells property auctions. The property came to the market for the first time in almost 2 centuries having been in the Petherick family since around 1827. The property sold in 5 lots including a pair of cottages, land and agricultural buildings. Further farms and land were sold at auction during a fantastic 2018, with further auctions scheduled across 2019.
Land at Brownspit, Gooseham sold towards the end of 2018 consisting 64 acres of productive pasture land with stunning views to the coastline. Nethercott Farm at Yarnscombe near Barnstaple completed in the same month, a model stock farm and 4 bedroom farmhouse set in 96 acres which included a range of agricultural buildings. Longstone House near Bideford sold in the next month, an attractive former coach house with some 22 acres near the North Devon coast.
There were also a number of off market private treaty sales including 80 acres of land at Boscastle, land near South Petherwin, Launceston consisting of 36 acres, and land at Crediton, approximately 53.65 acres.
