Kivells and Baldwins host expert ‘future of agriculture’ seminar
The professional services team from Kivells and financial advisers from the accountancy firm Baldwins recently hosted a well-attended seminar for the local agricultural community at a packed venue in Cornwall.
The sold out ‘Planning for the Future’ evening was held at Trethorne Leisure Park near Launceston. Following a welcome from Kivells Director Mark Bromell, presentations were given by the teams from both firms on a range of issues affecting the future of the agricultural industry.
The event was designed to give advice and information to farmers with topics covering market uncertainty, grants, Basic Payment Scheme, environmental issues, changes to farm tax and reliefs, and the selling and letting of farms.
Kivells Director Mark Bromell was delighted with the evening, “The event was extremely successful with fantastic presentations from both firms. I was extremely proud of the Kivells team and, in-particular, Lisabeth Miller and Thomas Rattray, who represented both themselves and Kivells extremely well. I had numerous positive comments at the end of the evening, with one attendee stating it was “The best seminar we have attended for years.”
Around 150 farmers were in attendance, with many travelling from far and wide for the well-received event. Once the presentations were complete the evening took on a more relaxed feel, with attendees enjoying warm refreshments, bowling and rides on the dodgems. Kivells Director Tom Rattray noted, “The bowling and, in-particular, the dodgems created a really fun atmosphere to end the evening. It was great seeing our clients enjoying themselves.”
Following the huge success, further events are already being planned. Keep an eye on the Kivells website and social media channels for more details.
