Kivells Long service award for Annette Dennis
Kivells have recently had the pleasure of celebrating a fantastic long service achievement for a special member of staff in Holsworthy.
Accounts Clerk and Administrator Annette Dennis has been a proud employee at Kivells for the past 50 years. Annette’s career has seen her work in the old Holsworthy Market, Bideford Market, Liskeard Market and the transition into the new purpose-built, state-of-the-art agricultural centre in Holsworthy.
Annette began her career in 1969 working with many Kivells family members including Mr Peter Kivell - father to current Kivells Director David, Miss Di Kivell, Mrs Pat Whateley and Mr Arthur Dowdle and was interviewed for her original position of Secretary by Mr Bob Kivell. During this time Annette became heavily involved in the running of the Holsworthy and Stratton Show, an event Annette would proudly support for almost 30 years.
Annette speaks fondly of her time at Kivells, “I have had some amazing times over the last 50 years and have worked with and met some incredible people. People that will remain friends for many years to come. As well as the incredible hard work of the team, there has always been a nice social side. It has been a fascinating journey seeing the company moving with modern times and now operating from a market leading agricultural centre. It is a pleasure to come to work each day and I thank all the people that have made it so special.”
Annette’s versatile career has seen her work in numerous departments including farms, antiques and household but mainly agriculture, in accounts, clerking and administration, making her an integral part of the team.
A highlight came on the 19th October 2015 during the grand opening of the new agricultural centre in Holsworthy. A wonderful day for Kivells, attended by local farmers, dignitaries, councillors and staff, was made extra special with the visit of HRH Princess Anne who had the honour of conducting the official opening. Annette was given a special introduction to Princess Anne and was first in line as recognition for her long service.
Kivells Director David Kivell adds, “It has been an absolute pleasure working with Annette through her wonderful career. She has always been an integral part of the team and an incredibly popular member of the Kivells family.”
