Talbert clock sells at £1700
At Kivells Auction at Holsworthy on 16th August a Bruce Talbert brass mantle clock with pendulum and finials missing surprised everyone in the room except the eventual winning bidder.
With a starting bid of £50 the Internet took off to £1400 the room bidder then took the bidding to a magnificent £1700.
Another mantle clock, this one being a Jaeger le Coutre in line skeleton clock sold in the room against strong on line bidding for another excellent selling price of £1200.
With Gold & silver prices on a high at present there was very strong bidding on all the Jewellery with a 9 carat gold charm bracelet with 29 charms selling at £1475, 9 carat gold watch chain £600, 22 carat gold band ring £220, 18 carat gold signet ring £240, three .375 gold necklaces £440, Prima 9 carat gold wristwatch £320, Benson 9 carat gold wristwatch £240, silver charm bracelet £340, 9 carat gold padlock bracelet £180 and .375 gold necklace sold at £185.
Country furniture sold well with pine chests of drawers to £150, pine scrub top tables £280 & £320, pine Monks bench £160, pine sideboard £220 and four elm kitchen chairs £120.
Other prices of note were a Harris & Co barometer selling at £650, silver hip flask for £170, silver forks and spoons £240, silver Swedish tot £110, pair of silver Presentation spoons £100 and a Victorian silver teapot £220.
