Weekly General & Household Auction Report

A nice entry of goods from homes throughout the Westcountry sold to a solid trade.  The best of a nice run of new jackets ranging between £15-£22 with the same home selling the best of their hammers to £14.  Messrs Jose of Bude sold the best of his collection of furniture at £35 for a collection of kitchen chairs with Chest of Drawers at £30 with another later in the sale at £32.  The pick of the beds came in from Messrs McDonald of Ashwater hitting £35 a price reached by Messrs Jacobs for a Double bed.

The Jose family saw their Deep Freeze sell away at £52 with plenty of white goods up and over the £30 bracket.

Nearing the end of the sale several wardrobes and cupboards sold between £40-£50 with a Dressing Table selling to £50 going off to its new home near Plymouth.

The overall top call of the day was sold at the end of the sale and after somewhat of a bidding war saw the Oil lamp on behalf of Messrs Missen reach a fantastic £130.

Next weeks sale has already received plenty of entries to include one part house clearance from Bideford consisting of a large consignment of Pine Furniture.

Please Note:  Next week the sale will commence at 11am prompt with viewing on Tuesday (day of sale) from 9am.  Unloading goods on Monday only between 9am – 2.30 pm in the calf section.
