Farms and Land Market Remains Buoyant

Farms & Land

Demand for quality farms and agricultural land across the South West remains exceptionally strong, with competitive bidding continuing to deliver excellent sale prices throughout the region. The market remains resilient and buoyant, supported by a wide range of motivated buyers and an ongoing shortage of good-quality stock coming to the market.

It is important to recognise the strength of the local market, as national headlines can sometimes create unnecessary uncertainty. The evidence we are seeing on the ground tells a different story, with well-presented farms and land continuing to attract significant interest and achieving outstanding results. Confidence in the agricultural sector remains positive, and we continue to see buyers willing to compete for the right opportunities.

One area that does require a more considered approach is the residentially led lifestyle farm sector. Demand remains healthy, but buyers are becoming increasingly selective, particularly where values are driven more by the residential element than the agricultural holding itself. We have also seen a shift in the market for farms with established holiday letting businesses. While these properties still generate interest, they are no longer commanding the premium they once achieved, as higher operating costs and changing market conditions have influenced buyer expectations.

As always, our advice is based on current market evidence. By providing realistic, informed valuations and tailored guidance, we are helping our clients make confident decisions and achieve the best possible outcomes in today's evolving marketplace.
