First under the auction hammer, and star lot of the night, was the 6.23 acres of land and stables at Tregainlands, Washaway, Bodmin. Bidding was fierce for this fantastic equestrian set up, seeing the hammer fall at £205,000 against a guide of £100,000 - £120,000.
Auction continues to be a popular method of sale for residential property. 1 Great Ash Moor, a three-bedroom semi-detached cottage in Rose Ash, South Molton, sold for £250,000 against a guide of £150,000 - £175,000 and Lanscarett, a three-bedroom bungalow with scope for extension, located in Polyphant, Launceston, sold for £230,000 against a guide of £225,000.
Masonville, a charming two-bedroom detached bungalow within the popular Cornish village of Dobwalls, sold for £175,000 against a guide of £150,000-£175,000 and Churchtowne House, a semi-detached cottage in need of upgrade and refurbishment situated in the peaceful rural setting of Calstock, saw the hammer fall at £186,000, £46,000 above its guide.
An attractive investment opportunity made up of four one-bedroom flats in the centre of Liskeard generated strong interest, selling to an online bidder for £156,000 against a guide of £100,000 - £125,000.
Demand was strong for the land on offer at October’s auction. 8.39 acres at Trerosewill Farm in Boscastle sold for £110,000 against a guide of £95,000 and 2.03 acres at Peek, Luffincott sold for £35,000, £15,000 above its guide.
Frizbarn, a commercial unit offering huge potential in Tremaine, Launceston, sold for £100,000 against a guide of £125,000.
