Auction

It was a packed room at Lifton Strawberry Fields for Kivells’ first auction of 2026, with 10 lots successfully going under the auction hammer.

Land, residential property and development opportunities generated strong interest prior to auction, resulting in sales topping an impressive £1.2 million, to the delight of our vendors.

Auction remains an extremely popular and effective method of sale for land. The three lots of land at Little Ladford proved sought-after, each successfully selling for in excess of their guides. 7.77 acres with a timber building sold for £170,000 against a guide of £100,000 - £150,000, 12.23 acres sold for £154,000 against a guide of £100,000, and the 10.21 acres saw the hammer fall at £124,000, £24,000 above its guide.

4.15 acres of land at Coombe, St. Breward sold for £62,000 against a guide of £50,000 - £55,000, 34.77 acres at Pipswell Cross Shop in Morwenstow sold for £270,000 against a guide of £275,000, 2.46 acres at Lake Farm, St. Keyne sold for £54,000 against a guide of £40,000 - £50,000, 2.19 acres in Jacobstowe sold for £44,000 against a guide of £25,000 - £30,000, and 3.48 acres at Lower Metherell sold for £127,000, an impressive £52,000 above its guide.

The Old Fisherman Store in Looe also proved popular in the run up to the auction, seeing the hammer fall at £60,000 against a guide of £50,000 - £60,000.

The Barn, a three-bedroom detached stone barn conversion in Chilsworthy, sold for £165,000, £15,000 above its guide.

Kivells Director Sam Turner MNAEA commented, "Kivells Collective Property Auctions have got off to a phenomenal start this year. It was great to see so many bidders and spectators in the auction room for our first auction of 2026, and the results reinforce that Kivells really is the auction that sells!

With 9 further auctions planned this year, we are confident that February’s success will continue throughout 2026 and beyond.

I would like to thank all of the incredible Kivells team that helped make the auction such a success for our vendors and I look forward to our second auction of the year, taking place on Wednesday 25th March.”

We are currently taking lots for our April auction which will take place on Wednesday 22nd April. If you are thinking of selling by this method, contact your local Kivells team today for expert advice.
