The spring market has got off to a flying start for Kivells, with March’s auction seeing 10 sought-after lots go under the hammer, and in excess of £1.4 million in sales achieved.
Land, residential property and development opportunities continue to generate fierce bidding in the auction room.
2 Lampretten Cottages, a charming Grade II listed one-bedroom, semi-detached cottage in Liskeard sold for £129,000 against a guide of £70,000 - £80,000.
The Old Post Office, a character home in need of modernisation and set within approximately 7 acres of pasture in Woodacott, Holsworthy saw the hammer fall at an impressive £302,000, £52,000 above its guide.
Tremeale Cottage, a detached three-bedroom property in Daws House, also generated strong interest in the auction room, selling for £182,000 against a guide of £150,000.
35 South Street in Hatherleigh, Okehampton reached it’s guide of £100,000, as did Flat 13 Kiming in Bude.
1 and 2 School Road in Landrake also proved popular in the run up to the auction. These two adjoining residential properties sold for £150,000 against a guide of £90,000 - £100,000.
Kivells’ strong marketing campaign were perfectly demonstrated when Sutcombe Primary School sold prior to auction. This former school house, boasting planning permission for a pair of spacious 3 and 4 bedroom properties, sold for £157,500 against a guide of £140,000.
The land market remains buoyant, with 1.63 acres off New Road in Liskeard selling for £27,000 against a guide of £15,000 - £20,000. 30.81 acres at Crylla Farm, Common Moor, also exceeded its guide of £275,000 - £285,000, seeing the hammer fall at £310,000.
