Kivells’ third auction of the year generated strong results as keen bidders filled the auction room at Lifton Strawberry Fields, witnessing 14 sought-after lots go under the hammer, generating in excess of £1.3 million in sales.
Auction remains a popular method of sale for land, with April’s auction offering a variety of parcels across Devon and Cornwall, ranging in size from 1.26 acres to 34.64 acres.
10.09 acres of land at Lower Wringworthy, Morval sold for £95,000 against a guide of £90,000 - £95,000, 9.95 acres at Sladelands Farm, Botus Fleming sold for £140,000 against a guide of £130,000 - £140,000 and 2.11 acres of land lying north of The Pastures in Bratton Clovelly saw the hammer fall at £68,000 against a guide of £50,000 - £75,000.
Bidding was fierce for the 13.25 acres of land and buildings at Klymiarven in Tintagel. This rare opportunity to purchase land in an iconic north Cornish coastal village generated strong interest, seeing the hammer fall at an impressive £275,000, £100,000 above its guide.
31.42 acres of land at Yonder Park, Ebberley sold for £315,000 against a guide of £295,000 - £315,000, 1.34 acres adjacent to the River Camel in Camelford sold for £28,000 against a guide of £15,000, and 1.26 acres and a yard know as Tall Tress, Kit Hill, Callington sold for £56,000 against a guide of £25,000.
Demand for residential property remains high with Trefuge Bungalow in Coads Green, a three-bedroom property of non-traditional construction set in just over 5 acres of gently sloping pasture, selling for £358,000, £108,000 above its guide.
Kivells Director Sam Turner MNAEA commented, ‘There was once again another tremendous atmosphere in the auction room on a wonderful spring evening.
