HOLSWORTHY LIVESTOCK MARKET - New Sale Every Wednesday of Organic Calves

Kivells will be conducting sales of Organic calves from 10.15am, every Wednesday preceding the normal calf market. Entries invited from vendors one week prior to each sale for advertising and notification of buyers.

Kivells auctioneers had another busy week supporting charities and good causes with the highlight being the annual ‘Mary’s Supper’ raising money on behalf of Devon & Cornwall Air Ambulance at Trethorne near Launceston. Over 130 guests enjoyed the vintage machinery themed evening which raised over £2600 at the auction. Also on Saturday evening Kivells were at Kings Nympton Village Hall helping raise around £500 on the night.

Kivells Farms & Land Department were pleased to offer an excellent block of land for sale by Public Auction on 18th September. The land comprises 23.42 acres of organic pasture land in single level enclosure with good road access and far reaching views.

20th September 2017

A magnificent entry of store cattle saw a good selling trade, those cattle which have been fed remain very fast to a top price of £1290 for a single suckled Aberdeen Angus steer from Mr P Howrihane, Sutcombe. A cracking consignment of 18 month old Charolais from Messrs J & J Phillpotts, Halwill topped at £1180 with others at £1165 and £1130.

A slightly shorter number of ewe lambs sold a generally selective audience who were only willing to spend a little over last year’s prices for all breeds and sizes.

The team from Kivells have been busy helping raise funds for various charities and organisations recently to include £550 given for a Charollais ram which was donated to the Farm Community Network (FCN) at the NSA Ram Sale at Exeter Livestock Centre. Kivells also travelled to Lanhydrock to conduct an auction to raise money for the local churches raising over £1700 on the evening.
